Pinot Noir (Predominantly D2V4 clone + 0013, 0014, 8048, 2051, 115 and MV6) from the Antipodes vineyard in the Coal River Valley. Layered fermentation of whole bunches (60%) and hand-destemmed berries in tank for five weeks. After fermentation, the grapes were pressed, and the wine returned to the tank, where it spent 15 months before bottling. This is the first Pinot Noir I’ve made that hasn’t been aged in oak barrels, resulting in a bright and energetic wine with great structure and depth. A pure expression of the site soil and season!
